HISTORY OF BULL CITY GYMNASTICS
Bull City Gymnastics began as a spin-off program from The Studio, School of Dance Arts. When owner Bonnie Boone first moved into her newly built space on Shannon Road, she created a 3600ft2 space where recreational gymnasts could practice. The gymnastics side of her business soon took off, and the first competitive team was formed in 1998.
The program continued to grow, and in November 2004, the gym made a move to a much larger warehouse facility on South Alston Avenue in Durham. With a gym full of new equipment, the program expanded and improved, and it remained at this location until August of 2006.
Hundreds of gymnasts made the temporary move back to Shannon Road when the lease on the South Alston Avenue building was terminated. After an arduous search, a spacious new facility was located and leased in December 2006. Construction was completed in March 2007, and the gymnastics program once again had a building that could foster and help to realize the hopes and dreams of every gymnast who walked in the door.
The mission of Bull City Gymnastics is to combine artistry and athleticism in a quality environment for the recreational or competitive gymnast so that they may achieve the highest level desired.
Our professional staff and nurturing environment set us apart from the rest. Our goal and commitment to our students is teaching and embracing the values of how discipline and hard work build strong gymnasts. We believe that encouragement and positive reinforcement are essential for the growth and development of our gymnasts. This positive approach gives our students the best chance for success in their future endeavors. We will continue to strive for excellence, creating an environment where all students can reach their personal best.
